Momentum brings together adult members of the inhibitor community ages 18+ for a weekend of education and community building.  Momentum offers topics critical to adult men with an inhibitor such as treatment products (existing and in development), vocational and career planning, ACA/health insurance changes, techniques for continued venous access health, as well as pain management-traditional and complimentary strategies.

Who can attend?

Adults ages 18+ with hemophilia, with an active inhibitor who have not successfully tolerized are encouraged to attend.

We understand inhibitors have been known to return just weeks or months following a 0 BU count, so those who may have seen a 0 BU count within the past three years are eligible to attend. If space allows, those who have tolerized for more than 3 years will be welcome. U.S. residents only. Guests are not permitted.

My inhibitor has been tolerized? Why can’t I attend?

Momentum is designed to create an adapted environment for those with inhibitors, while providing a place to connect with others with similar challenges. A myriad of educational programs are available for those in the hemophilia community not currently managing an active inhibitor. NHF and HFA offer annual meetings, as well as your local chapter. We encourage you to check them out!

Where is the nearest hospital?

University of California at San Francisco is located 4 miles away and may be reached in 20 minutes traffic dependent.

Where is this year's program being held?

Hotel Nikko is just steps from Union Square in the heart of San Francisco, experience the fine art of hospitality and the ultimate personal service set in the midst of a city famous for its charming history and cutting edge style. The hotel is equipped with free high speed wifi, glass enclosed pool, Starbucks Café and healthclub.

Will the location be accessible to wheelchairs and other mobility devices?

Hotel Nikko offers accessible accommodations and facilities in compliance with the American’s With Disabilities Act. Handicap accessible entrances and wheelchair seating are both available at Feinstein’s, the hotel’s nightclub. In addition, the hotel offers ADA compliant amenities to ensure the comfort of every guest.

How much does it cost to attend?

There are no fees associated with attending Momentum. Travel assistance is available for all participants. Travel related expenses to include tolls, mileage and parking will be reimbursed. Airline tickets are provided for travel. All meals will be provided on site.

What should I bring?

Your factor and supplies, as there will NOT be any on site. Also bring your enthusiasm and willingness to reach out so we can learn from each other!

What about patient confidentiality?

Information that you share or hear will be treated with the utmost respect and never disclosed without your permission. We want participants to feel comfortable so that we may support one another.

How does CHES fund programming?
